Clara is one year old! It is great seeing past clients and their grown up babies — especially when I totally had forgotten we had even met! To be fair we it was a very fast photo session and there were a lot of other moms and babies in the group. Clara is in this photo, third one on the top row in the blue sleeper. Just wee little baby.

Fast forward a year to a first birthday and a cake smash! Her first reaction to the cake was pure delight, but then it kinda went downhill. She was not happy with the butter cream icing on her skin or she something. Poor kid! But we still got cute photos. Take a look!

Meet Silas. He is six and likes skateboarding, hip hop music and blue Jones Soda. I got to chase him around the Art Gallery of Alberta on behalf of The Tiny Light Foundation. He’s asuper cute kid and it was a lot of fun hanging out with him and his mom!

As you can tell by all the snow in these photos, this session is not recent. It was actually held back in February, the morning after a huge dump of snow and one of the few really cold days we got. But Larena and her husband really wanted outdoor maternity photos. I love winter sessions and I am always up for going outside (as long as it’s not too too cold…or else the camera doesn’t work so well).I think out of the three of us Blair was the coldest — because I was working up a sweat jumping around and Larena had the benefit of being pregnant and always really warm. It was a good day!

Little Taya is a year old!! Here she is when I first met her last year. She was so fun to photograph — she was so smiley! And she was a great cake smasher. She started out with the one finger taste test, but then got right in there. *Smoosh* Love it!

Meet baby Megan, a tiny little girl I got to photograph through The Tiny Light Foundation. She was born several weeks early after ultrasounds determined she was not receiving enough blood from the umbilical cord to grow. Despite her very tiny size, she was strong and able to breathe on her own. She spent 6 weeks in the NICU and was sent home weighing just under 4 lbs. However, she was sent back to the hospital after the discovery of two hernias that required surgery. Now at three months old, she is back home and growing bigger and stronger everyday.

Remember this little guy (and his beautiful big sister) from last year?

Well he’s already well past the half year mark and as cute as ever!

These kids have the most INSANELY long eyelashes! And there is a neat story behind the cute sailor outfit. Thier grandma has a photo of each of her grandchildren (I can’t rember how many) in a sailor outfit. I think the oldest grandchild is around 17-18 year old, so the tradition has been going on for quite awhile.

Mommy Connections * Sherwood Park Baby Photography

I was also out to visit the Mommy Connections Sherwood Park baby class last month. This was a big group of new moms! I think the age range in this class was around 3 months to 9 month old — and it can really test you as a photographer. I had to work really hard to win a couple of them over. Some were moderately amused with me. And there were a couple who thought I was the funniest thing they have ever seen. Babies rock! It was great meeting all you ladies and your little ones!

I was in for another round of photos with the Mommy Connections Edmonton West last month. Another group of super cute — and VERY active toddlers! My two daughters and I were actually enrolled in this session (they are not pictured because they don’t listen to me). It was a lot of fun and I highly recommend it to anyone with kids between the ages of 12-36 months. The next session starts March 20th at the Mooves & Grooves studio on Callingwood Road.
