F.A.Q

Q. Who do you photograph?
A. My favorite models are newborns and babies! I also love to photograph families and maternity. I don’t photograph weddings - but I could refer you to some wonderful Edmonton wedding photographers. I also have a passion for pet photography, and volunteer with the Edmonton Humane Society throughout the year.

Q:  What time is best for sessions to be held?
A:  Sessions are best in the morning or early evening.  I prefer morning sessions simply because babies and kids tend to be happier in the morning! The time is also dependant on the available light as I do not like to use artificial light. I prefer the soft look of natural light (especially with newborns). For evening sessions, they are usually scheduled within about 2-3 hours before sunset.

Q. Where will our session be held?
A. That is totally up to you! If you have some favorite areas or a place that is special to you, I would love to hold the session there.  It also depends on the look you are going for….Natural (trees, streams, rocks) or Urban (bricks, graffiti, textures). If you have a suggestion, let me know ahead of time so that I may check the area out before we meet.

Q. What do I/we wear?
A. If it is a newborn session, babies look best in the buff. But you are more than welcome to have some special outfits on hand for the photos. For maternity sessions, wear what you feel comfortable in. With that said, tighter fitting clothes accentuate your baby belly and are more flattering in photos than baggy clothing. For family sessions and other sessions, clothing that compliments each other (but it not matchy-matchy) looks great in photos. I would caution against wearing a lot of bold patterns as it can overwhelm the photos.

Q. Do you need a deposit?
A. Yes, the full creation fees are due at the time of booking to reserve your date and is non refundable. Please try to give me at least a week’s notice if you need to re-schedule.

Q. How far do you travel?
A. Most of my sessions are within the Greater Edmonton Region (including St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Leduc, Devon, Spruce Grove and Stony Plain). I will travel up to 50 kilometers miles from Edmonton. If you are further away, please contact me for a quote on the additional travel expense.

Q. How can I book a newborn session if I don’t know when the baby will arrive?
A. We will tentatively schedule a date and time near your expected due date. When your little one arrives give me a quick call or email  and we’ll confirm a date. You may even want to include me on your list of people to call from the hospital ;)

Q. Does the session fee include any prints or products?
A. No, the fee covers my time and talent, travel to your location (within 50km of Edmonton) and full custom editing of your portraits. All digital files, prints and products must be purchased separately.

Q:  What happens after the session is completed?
A:  Within a few days, you will be able to see a sneak peek of your photos on my  blog.  These are some of my favorites from the session.  Within about two weeks after the session date, I will have your private gallery ready for viewing. You will receive a gallery of 30 - 35 photos to choose from.
