Rebuilding in Progress

If you have visited my blog in the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed there are no photos of my sessions. Just a bunch of posts with  the same picture saying I need to update my 3rd Party Service provider.  For the last 10 years I had been using Photobucket to host my blog photos, because it was free. Yeah yeah I know. Free never stays free. And it didn’t. Overnight, one day in June, Photobucket broke the links for 10’s of millions of photos and sent out word that we had to pay for their highest level of service before they would restore the links. Myself and millions of other long time users were shocked and very upset. So I am now trying to rebuild my blog by uploading the photos again through MyFotoJournal, which hosts my blog. This is what I should have done in the beginning. In the meantime, please visit my Facebook Page for the latest photos. This will take a long time to fix.

Ps here is an updated photo of my little family. This was from the last few days we had with our little dog, Shadow.

Edmonton Cake Smash Photographer * Harper

Harper is a girl after my own heart — all business about cake.  I photographed her big brother a few years ago  (he was much less interested), but still cute as a button. Look at that blue-eyed smoulder in the second photo!  I am always happy to photograph siblings during my Edmonton Cake Smash photo sessions. As much as parents love having the photos of their children individually, the ones of them together are the favourites.   Harper’s mom picked a really fun and girly colour pallet. I love the rose pink and cream colours. Harper loved it too. Look at how she tore into that pastry. I love her enthusiasm!

If you are thinking of hiring an Edmonton Cake Smash Photographer and hoping that your child will smash the cake to paste, I will let you in on a little secret….most sessions really don’t go this way. This is especially true if it is your first born child. Most first time parents are pretty diligent at keeping their child clean or not letting them eat sugary foods. This is tricky when it comes time to put them on the floor to smash a cake. The rules are much different with second and third children at home, so as an Edmonton Cake Smash Photographer my job is usually a little easier coaxing them to eat the cake.  But don’t let this discourage you. Look through my blog. Most of these babies are first children. There are always ways to get them to eat their cake…even if they aren’t thrilled.

Edmonton Family Photographer * Underschultz Family

Edmonton is so lucky to have such a beautiful University campus like the University of Alberta. These are some of the oldest buildings in the city. Unfortunately, so many old buildings get torn down instead of spending the costs to refurbish them. I get it. It is sometimes more expensive to repair than to tear down and rebuild. But luckily, these big structures remain. I had a great time exploring the area with the Underschultz Family! The University of Alberta campus is a perfect location for Edmonton extended family photography sessions.

Edmonton Family Photographer * Tiny Light Marissa

Marissa is such a sweet little girl!  Her family and I were connected through The Tiny Light Foundation, an Edmonton based organization that provides free professional photography for families of children that have been received a life-altering diagnosis. I met with Marissa and her family at my favourite Edmonton family photography location, Larch Sanctuary. The leaves were just starting to turn colour.
