Rebuilding in Progress

If you have visited my blog in the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed there are no photos of my sessions. Just a bunch of posts with  the same picture saying I need to update my 3rd Party Service provider.  For the last 10 years I had been using Photobucket to host my blog photos, because it was free. Yeah yeah I know. Free never stays free. And it didn’t. Overnight, one day in June, Photobucket broke the links for 10’s of millions of photos and sent out word that we had to pay for their highest level of service before they would restore the links. Myself and millions of other long time users were shocked and very upset. So I am now trying to rebuild my blog by uploading the photos again through MyFotoJournal, which hosts my blog. This is what I should have done in the beginning. In the meantime, please visit my Facebook Page for the latest photos. This will take a long time to fix.

Ps here is an updated photo of my little family. This was from the last few days we had with our little dog, Shadow.

Edmonton Newborn Photographer * Baby Arianna

Introducing Baby Arianna!  A sleepy girl, with perfect peach skin and a fuzzy head of newborn hair.  The was a session with just her on her own. I usually encourage photos with mom and dad, but not all of them want to be in the photos. And that is completely fair. I remember those first few weeks with a newborn. It is tough and tiring. I will never force someone or sneak a photo of them without their permission. As an Edmonton Newborn Photographer, I was able to get through many different poses, both blanket photos and prop shots with Arianna. She was such a good sleeper.

Edmonton Baby Photographer * Laila is 6 Months

Oh sweet Laila. She was not pleased with me. She has the most beautiful dark eyes and incredible long hair. Her three big brothers love her, as so mom and dad. But she was not happy to be celebrating her 6 month birthday at my home studio doing a photo session. I was able to capture a few smiles on her own and when she was sitting with her family, but most of the time it was just trying to keep her from being sad. I did get to see her a few months after her first birthday. She was no longer the baby any more. Another little boy had arrived in their family. He had the same amazing hair and dark eyes as his big sister Laila.

Edmonton Newborn Photographer * Baby Naiya

As an experienced Edmonton Newborn Photographer, I photograph all kinds of babies. Sleepy ones, cranky ones, ones that are easy to pose and others that awake at the slightest touch. Most newborn babies also have some red blotchiness and bumps on their skin. They go through quite the journey before they arrive in the world. But Naiya was one of the few newborns that I have photographed that had nearly perfect skin. I did very little editing to get the creamy  perfect texture. Proper lighting does help immensely for getting beautiful skin tones, but some babies need a lot of editing still. Naiya was perfect. She slept wonderfully as well and let me pose her with ease. The only bit of difficulty was trying to convince Naiya’s big sister for a photo. She just wasn’t interested.  Mom and I did manage to convince her to lay down for one photo, as long as we were holding a cellphone above her. It wasn’t a perfect photo, but her exasperated expression summed up what life is like when you are the big sister.
