Rebuilding in Progress

If you have visited my blog in the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed there are no photos of my sessions. Just a bunch of posts with  the same picture saying I need to update my 3rd Party Service provider.  For the last 10 years I had been using Photobucket to host my blog photos, because it was free. Yeah yeah I know. Free never stays free. And it didn’t. Overnight, one day in June, Photobucket broke the links for 10’s of millions of photos and sent out word that we had to pay for their highest level of service before they would restore the links. Myself and millions of other long time users were shocked and very upset. So I am now trying to rebuild my blog by uploading the photos again through MyFotoJournal, which hosts my blog. This is what I should have done in the beginning. In the meantime, please visit my Facebook Page for the latest photos. This will take a long time to fix.

Edmonton Maternity Photographer * Shauna

My maternity session with Shauna was done at the end of October in 2015. We has such a warm Fall that we were still able to outdoors without toques and gloves. Normally there is snow on the ground, especially close to Halloween. The kids have to pick their costumes to be able to fit over snow suits. Sad. But not this year!  Shauna was expecting a little boy and she wanted some photos of her in the Fall colours with a maternity gown. This is not something I normally offer, but I do have some connections for dresses. Shauna was open to location suggestions and I was glad she she said yes to this cool tree near my house. I drive by it almost every day and thought it would be an epic place for photos. I love the way the sun shines through the leaves.  Shauna delivered her baby early and I met him in November of that year. Baby Theo is the sweetest little baby.

Edmonton Extended Family Photographer * Steffler/Voogd Family

Fall was pretty much over when I met up with this extended family for a photo session. It doesn’t last long in the Edmonton area. All it takes is one or two days of wind to blow most of the leaves from the trees.  There was a spot near their home in Stony Plain that still had some leaves on the trees. Thank god for the Mountain Ash trees with their beautiful leaves and red berries!

Edmonton Child Photographer * Aria is 1

Oh Aria you are so sweet, but you did not want to be contained during your outdoor photo session to celebrate your first birthday. However, because our session was along the North Saskatchewan River  mom and dad had to keep a tight leash on you. Most of Aria’s smiles came when she was trying to run away from us.

This little sweetheart was part of my Year of Firsts package. You can view past sessions on my blog, starting with her 6 month session. It was a chilly day for our Fall family session, in an area now known as Accidental Beach, at Henrietta Muir Edwards Park. We powered through with some songs, snuggles and letting Aria run where she wouldn’t fall into the river.  I had a fabulous year photographing their family and watching Aria grow. They are a military family and have since been relocated to British Columbia.
